II. GREETINGS FOR THE SEVEN CHURCHES OF ASIA WHICH WOULD BE TO THE CHRISTIANS:

A. These are the blessings for all Christians. v 4

B. These are the traits of all Christians. vs 5-7
1. Saints are made free from their sins. v 5, Heb. 8:12-13, 1 John

2. Christians are made kings unto God because they are ruling over

3. Disciples are make priests unto God because they are offering up

C. These are the accountabilities of all Christians. vs 7-8

III. THE TESTIMONY OF JOHN: VS 9-11

CHAPTER 4
I. THE THRONE OF GOD WHICH SYMBOLIZES POWER: VS 1-11
A. These are the traits of the throne of God. vs 1-2
1. The throne of God is in heaven. v 1
2. The throne of God covers the earth. v 2, Heb. 1:3, Psa. 19:1-6,
Rom. 1:20
B. These are the occupants of the throne of God. vs 3-4
1. Those three Divine Persons who created and redeemed man are seated
upon the centered throne. v 3, Gen. 1:26-27, 1 John 5:7, Acts 2:34-38,
Matt. 28:18-20
2. The redeemed men of God occupy the circled throne of God. v 4,
Rev. 2:26-27, Rev. 3:12, Rev. 3:21
a). The twenty-four elders represent the redeemed in the old and new
dispensations: The twelve Patriarchs and the twelve Apostles.
b). The redeemed are crowned with immortality. 2 Tim. 1:10, Romans
2:7, 2 Cor. 5:1-5, 1 Cor. 15:50-57, 1 Tim. 6:15-16
C. These are the sovereignties of the throne of God. v 5
1. The seven Spirits of God denotes the sovereignty and the completeness
of the throne of God. John 8:12, Matt. 5:14-16
2. The seven Spirits of God are the three Divine Persons who created
and redeemed man and the redeemed persons from the four parts of the earth.

a). Those Persons who sat upon the throne of God have a glorious appearance
of life because this is characterized by the lightnings. 1 Tim. 6:15-16,
Acts 9:3-7, Phil. 3:21
b). Those Persons who sat upon the throne of God possess the powers
of immortality because this is illustrated by the thunderings. 2 Tim. 1:10,
1 Tim. 6:15-16, Rom. 2:7
c). Those Persons who sat upon the throne of God have the knowledge
of eternal life because this is represented by the voices. John 17:2-3
D. These are the honors for the throne of God. vs 6-11
1. Created life honors the power of God because the four creatures
denotes created life. vs 6-8, Acts 17:24-29, Psa. 148:2,5, Isa. 6:2
2. Redeemed life honors the powers of God because the twenty four
elders indicate those persons who were saved in the old and new dispensations.
Heb. 9:15, Rev. 1:4-6
a). The Lord our God has honored created life because He has redeemed
created man. Romans 5:6-8
b). The Lord our God will honor redeemed life because He has redeemed
us from the enslavement of sins. 1 John 3:1-3
CHAPTER 5
I. THE REDEMPTIVE WORKS OF GOD: VS 1-4
A. These are the revelations of the redemptive works of God. vs 1-4
1. The book: the Bible with the seven seals represents the complete
revelation of God's redemptive works. v 1, 2 Peter 1:1-3, 2 Tim. 3:6-17
2. The book: the Bible was not given unto us by human inspiration.
vs 2-4, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Matt. 4:4, 1 Cor. 2:10-16
B. These are the methods of the redemptive works of God. vs 6-7
1. Jesus (the Incarnated Word) came and revealed unto us the words
of life. v 5, John 6:68, John 12:48, Matt. 17:1-5, Heb. 1:1-3
2. Jesus became a sacrificial lamb for our sins. v 6, John 1:29
3. Jesus conquered the powers of sin for us. v 7, 1 John 3:8
a). God does use the name of Christ to redeem sinful man. Acts 2:36-38,
Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 4:12
b). God does work in the name of Christ for our own redeeming purposes.
2 Cor. 5:17-21
C. These are the praises for the redemptive works of God. vs 8-14
1. Created life must praise the Lord for His redemptive works. v 8,

2. Redeemed life must praise the Lord for His redemptive works. vs
8-10, John 4:24
a). These are the prayers of the saints. v 8, 1 Thess. 5:17
b). These are the songs which the saints sing. v 8, Eph. 5:19, Col.

c). These are the sermons which are preached from the book: the Bible.
v 9, 2 Tim. 4:1-4
d). The blood is the communion which is taken every Lord's day in
remembrance of our Lord's death, burial and resurrection. v 9, Acts 20:7,

e). This is the contribution which is given to evangelize the nations
of the earth. 1 Cor. 16:1-2, Matt. 28:18-20
d). Redeemed life must reign over the powers of sin. v 10, Romans
12:1- 2, Col. 1:13-14, Romans 6:12-13, Gen. 4:3-7
3. The angelic life must praise the Lord for His redemptive works.
vs 11-12
a). The angels rejoiced when our Saviour was born. Luke 2:8-14
b). The angles are concerned over the salvation of man. 1 Peter 1:12
c). The angles are ministering spirits who minister unto the saints.
Heb. 1:14
4. All manner of life must praise the Lord for his redemptive works.
vs 13- 14
a). The devils know the redemptive works of the Lord. James 2:19
b). The devils know their doom. Matt. 25:41, Rev. 20:10
CHAPTER 6
I. THE SEALS OF GOD: VS 1-17
A. These were the characteristics of the first seal of God. v 1-2
1. The first seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb signifies
the redeeming power of God. v 1, John 1:29
2. This seal symbolizes the power of the gospel because Jesus (the
Incarnated Word) came and conquered the powers of sin in the flesh for
us. v 2, 1 John 3:8
a). The Christian is to conquer the powers of sin by the gospel. Romans
1:16, Col. 1:13-14, Romans 8:37, Phil. 4:13, Gal. 2:20
b). The saint is symbolically sealed with a crown of life. Rev. 3:11
B. These are the traits of the second seal. vs 3-4
1. This seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb indicates the
redeeming power of God. v 3, John 1:29
2. This seal represents the power of persecutions. v 4
a). The Christians will be persecuted. Matt. 5:10-12
b). The saints must suffer persecutions. 2 Tim. 3:12
C. These are the characteristics of the third seal. vs 5-6
1. This seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb denotes the redeeming
power of God. v 5, John 1:29
2. This seal signifies the power of economic hardships. vs 5-6
a). Christians are only promised the necessities of life. Matt. 6:31-33
b). Saints must be contented with the necessities of life. 1 Tim.
6:6-8
D. These are the traits of the fourth seal. vs 7-9
1. This seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb implies the redeeming
power of God. v 7, John 1:29
2. This seal expresses the power of death and Hades: the realm of
the dead. v 8
a). The faithful Christian must die in a physical way. Romans 5:12
b). The faithful Christian can not die in a spiritual way. Luke 16:22-26
E. These are the characteristics of the fifth seal. vs 9-11
1. This seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb typifies the
redeeming power of God. v 9, John 1:29
2. This seal illustrates the power of martyrdom. vs 9-11
a). The Christian is subjected to a martyrized death. 2 Tim. 2:11-13
b). The saint must give his life for the advancement of the Kingdom
of God. Matt. 10:39
F. These are the traits of the sixth seal. vs 12-17
1. This seal was opened by the Lamb because the Lamb signifies the
redeeming power of God. v 12, John 1:29
2. This seal indicates the power of the judgment upon the wicked persons
because the faithful Christians are not harmed by it. vs 12-17, John 5:28-
29, Acts 17:20-31, 2 Cor. 5:10
3. The vision of the judgment is a fearful sight. vs 12-14, 2 Peter.
3:10-12
a). There will be a great earthquake because this denotes that some
people are unprepared to meet their God. Amos 4:12
b). There will be darkness upon the earth because some people have
forsaken their God. Eph. 2:1, Isa. 59:1-2
c). There will be stars which will fall from heaven because some people
are now ready to confess the Lord their God. Romans 14:11
d). The earthly atmosphere of heaven will disappear because the wicked
persons can not live in Spiritual Zion. John 14:1-3
e). The earth will melt with fervent heart because the wicked persons
will spend eternity with the devil and his angels. Matt. 25:41
4. The enclosure of the judgment will be a terrifying enclosure. v
15, 1 Thess. 5:1-3
a). All classes of sinners will be there. 1 Cor. 1:26
b). All types of sinner will be there. 1 Tim. 5:24
5. The experience of the judgment will be an awe inspiring experience.
vs 16-17, Heb. 2:1-4
a). The wicked persons will cry for mercy because they will say "hide
us from the wrath of the lamb." v 16, 2 Thess. 1:7-9
b). The wicked persons will condemn themselves because they ask "who
shall be able to stand?" Matt. 7:21-23
CHAPTER 7
I. THE SEALING OF THE SAINTS: VS 1-17
A. These were the ways by which the saints were sealed. vs 1-8
1. The saints were sealed from the four parts of the earth. v 1, Luke
13:28- 30
2. The disciples were sealed as being the servants of God. vs 2-3,
2 Cor. 1:21-22
3. The Christians were sealed with a symbolic number. vs 4-8
a). The number three denotes the three Divine Persons who created
and redeemed man. This number is multiplied by the number four because
the redeemed persons came from the east, and from the west, and from the
north, and from the south part of the earth.
b). Three times four equal twelve. In the Old Testament this would
symbolize those persons who were save from the twelve tribes of Israel.
In the New Testament this number would denotes those persons who were saved
from the work of the twelve apostles. Eph. 2:19-22
B. These were the effects of the saints being sealed. vs 9-12
1. The saints praised the Lord for their salvation. vs 9-10, John
4:24
2. The angels praised the Lord for his redemptive works. vs 11-12,
Heb. 1:14
C. These were the purposes of the saints being sealed. vs 13-17
1. Christians will be given eternal salvation. vs 13-14, Romans 13:11
2. Saints will enjoy the eternal fellowship of God. v 15, Rev. 3:12
3. Disciples will enjoy the eternal blessings of God. vs 16-17, Romans
8:17
CHAPTER 8
I. THE FOUR TRUMPETS OF JUDGMENT: VS 1-13
A. These are the realities of that judgment. vs 1-5
1. The opening of the seventh seal signifies judgment. v 1, Acts 17:30-31
2. The prayers of the saints imply judgment. vs 2-5, 1 Peter 5:7,
2 Peter 2:9
B. These are the explanations of that judgment. v 6 (The seven trumpets
implies the complete judgment for sinful man.)
1. The seven seals also express total judgement for all men. 2 Cor.
5:10, Acts 17:30-31
2. There are four trumpets to punish sinful man in his physical being
of life, and there will be three trumpets to punish sinful man in his spiritual
being of life.
C. These are the traits of that judgment. vs 7-13
1. The first trumpet of judgment punishes sinful man by poverty because
this effects the vegetation of the earth. v 7, Luke 15:12-17
2. The second trumpet of judgment punishes sinful man by sea perils.
vs 8- 9, Acts 27:9-44
3. The third trumpet of judgment punishes sinful man by the gall of
bitterness. vs 10-11, Acts 8:18-23, Heb. 12:15
4. The fourth trumpet of judgment punishes sinful man by dreadful
fears. v 12, Heb 10:26-31, Luke 21:25-27
5. The other trumpets of judgment punishes sinful man in his spiritual
being of life because hell itself will be turned loose.
CHAPTER 9
I. THE FIFTH TRUMPET OF JUDGMENT: VS 1-12
A. These are the purposes of that judgment. vs 1-5
1. This judgment punishes sinful man by Satanic powers. vs 1-2, Luke
4:5- 6
2. This judgment robs sinful man of spiritual light because the servants
of God are not harmed by these powers. vs 3-5, 2 Tim. 3:13, 2 Thess. 2:8-
12
B. These are the effects of that judgment. vs 6-12
1. This judgment brings total unhappiness to sinful man because their
King means the Destroyer of life. vs 6-10, Jude 12-13
2. This judgment brings total corruption to sinful man because their
King denotes the Destroyer of life. vs 11-12, Matt. 15:14, 2 Peter 2:10-16
II. THE SIXTH TRUMPET OF JUDGMENT: VS 13-21
A. These are the purposes of that judgment. vs 13-21
1. This judgment punishes sinful men by Satanic powers because the
four evil angels implies evil coming from the four parts of the earth.
vs 13-14 1 John 2:15-17
2. This judgment punishes sinful men by global wars. vs 15-19, Jam.
4:1-4
B. These are the effects of that judgment. vs 20-21
1. This judgment did not bring about the repentance of idolatrous
worship. v 20
a). Men still worship the creature more than the Creator because there
are flesh gods. Romans 1:23-25
b). Men still worship the power of money more than they worship the
powers of God because Mammon expresses the power of money. 1 Tim. 6:9-10,17,
Matt. 6:24
2. This judgment did not bring about the repentance of evil works.
v 21
a). Men still love the pleasures of sin more than they love the praises
of God. 2 Tim. 3:1-5
b). Men still love religious error more than they love the truth of
God. 1 Tim. 4:1-3, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Tim. 4:1-4
CHAPTER 10
I. THE SEVENTH TRUMPET OF JUDGMENT: VS 1-11
A. These are the purposes of that judgment. vs 1-11
1. This judgment punish sinful men by bring the world to an end. vs
1-4
a). The archangel Michael will be the angel who announces our Lord's
return to the earth. 1 Thess. 4:16
b). Michael is the angel which the Lord uses to fight against the
devil. Jude 9, Rev. 12:7
2. This judgment punishes sinful men by authentic oaths that the world
will come to and end. vs 5-7
a). The Lord Himself swore that He would return to judge the world
in righteousness. Matt. 25:31-46
b). The angels of the Lord swore that the Lord would return to judge
the world in righteousness. Acts 1:9-11
B. These are the proofs of that judgment. vs 8-11
1. The word of God proves that the world will come to an end. v 8,
2 Peter 3:5-7
2. The life of the dedicated Christians prove that the world is coming
to and end. vs 9-11, 1 John 2:15-17
a). The Christian lives by the word of God. v 9, Matt. 4:4 1 ). The
word of God is sweet to the Christian. Psa. 19:9-11, Psa. 119:103 2). The
word of God is the bread of life. John 6:48-51, 57-58 3). The word of God
is the water of life. John 6:35, 7:27-38, 14:14
b). The Christian endures bitter persecution because of the word of
God. v 10, Gal. 4:16 1). The disciple is persecuted because he stands for
the truth of God. 2 Tim. 3:12, Matt. 5:10-12 2). The saint must suffer
tribulations because he upholds the truth of God. Romans 8:18
c). The Christian is living proof that Christ is living and that He
will return to judge the world in righteousness. v 11, Matt. 5:14-16 1).
The disciple has Christ living in him. Gal. 2:20 2). The saint has the
powers of Christ to help him to overcome the powers of Satan. Phil.
2:13, Phil. 4:13, Jude 24-25
CHAPTER 11
I. THE CYCLE OF THE CHURCH: VS 1-19
A. These are the purposes of the true church. vs 1-3
1. The true church is the temple of God. v 1, Acts 2:47, Eph. 2:19-22
2. The true church is persecuted by evil men because the forty two
months implies the reign of the gospel age. v 2, Acts 8:1-4, Jude 3-4,
2 Peter 2:1-3
3. The true church has a two fold responsibility. v 3, Matt. 28:18-20
a). The true church (the evangelist) must convert the world for Christ
because the world is lost in sin. 1 Cor. 3:4-6
b). The true church (the minister) must teach those persons who are
converted to remain faithful to Christ. 1 Cor. 3:7-14
B. These are the powers of the true church. vs 4-6
1. The two witnesses (the evangelist and the minister) are productive
and fruitful. V 4, John 15:1-8, Matt. 5:14-16
2. The two witnesses (the evangelist and the minister) have excess
to the powers of God and the powers of Christ. vs 5-6, James 5:16, Phil.
2:13, Phil. 4:13
C. These are the characteristics of the true church. vs 7-10
1. The apostate church is corrupted by false teaching. vs 7-8, Acts
20:28- 31, 1 Tim. 4:1-3, 2 Tim. 4:1-4
2. The apostate church rejoices over its victories because this church
is great than the true Church in its numbers and influences. vs 9-10, 1
John 4:1-3, 2 Peter 10:22, 2 Thess. 2:3-12
D. This will be the deliverance of the true church. vs 11-14
1. The true church will be delivered unto God. vs 11-12, 1 Cor. 15:24-28
2. The apostate church will be rejected because the unfaithful, the
deceived and the alien sinners will be lost. vs 13-14, 2 Thess. 1:7-9 Matt.
7:21-24, Matt. 13:24-30, Eph. 5:25-27
E. This will be the reign of the true church. vs 15-19
1. The true church is an everlasting Kingdom. v 15, John 18:36-37,
Heb. 12:28-29
2. The true church is empowered with the reigning power of God. vs
16- 18, Luke 13:28-30
3. The true church is the Spiritual Temple of God. v 19, Eph. 2:19-21
a). This means that those redeemed Persons will become an equal part
of that Spiritual Family in heaven whose surname is God. Eph. 3:15, 1 Cor.
15:28, Rev. 3:12
b). This means that those redeemed Persons will be crowned with immortality
which is the life that the Lord Himself possesses. Rom. 2:7, 1 Cor. 15:50-55,
2 Cor. 5:1-5, 2 Tim. 1:10, 1 Tim. 6:15 -16
