     {Joh 14:1-17:26 Thur. Night, Fri. to the Jews; no parallel.}

     ^14:1 Do not let your^* heart be disturbed; you^* believe in God, believe^* also in me.^14:2Many abodes are in my Father's house; otherwise, I would have told you^*. I am traveling on to prepare a place for you^*.^14:3And if I travel on, I will be preparing a place for you^*. I am coming again and will be receiving you^* to myself; in order that where I am, you^* may also be there.^14:4And you^*know where I am proceeding away to and you^* know the way.

     ^14:5 Thomas says to him, Lord, we do not know where you are proceeding away to; how are we able to know the way?

     ^14:6 Jesus says to him, I am the way and the truth and the life; no one is coming to the Father, except through me. ^14:7If you^* had known me, you^* would have also known my Father; from now on you^* know him and have seen him.

     ^14:8 Philip says to him, Lord, show us the Father and it is enough for us.

     ^14:9 Jesus says to him, So-much time I am with you^* and you have not known me Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. And how can you say this? Show us the Father. ^14:10Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you^*, I do not speak from myself, but the Father who is abiding in me; he is doing^* the works.^14:11Eitherbelieve^* me, that I am in the Father and the Father in me, otherwise believe^* me because of the works themselves.^14:12Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you^*, He who believes in me, the works which I am doing^*, he will also be doing^*, and he will be doing^* greater works than these, because I am traveling on to my Father. ^14:13And if you^* ask anything in my name, I will do^* this, in order that the Father might be glorified in the Son.^14:14If you^* ask me anything in myname, I will do^* that.^14:15If you^* love^* me, keep^* my commandments.

     ^14:16And I will be requesting of the Father and he will be giving you^* another Helper^*, in order that he may abide with you^* forever, ^14:17the Spirit of the truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not view him, nor knows him, but you^* know him, because he is abiding with you^* and will be in you^*. ^14:18I will not be leaving you^* orphans. I am coming to you^*. ^14:19Still a little while and the world views me no more, but you^* view me, because I am living, you^*will also be living. ^14:20 You^* will know in that day that I am in my Father and you^* in me and I in you^*. ^14:21He who holds my commandments and is keeping them, that one is he who loves^* me and he who loves^* me will be loved^* by my Father and I will love^* him and will be manifesting myself to him.

     ^14:22 Judas (not Iscariot) says to him, Lord, what has happened that you are about to manifest yourself to us and not to the world?

     ^14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves^* me, he will be keeping my word and my Father will love^* him, and we will be coming to him and we will be making^* our abode with him. ^14:24He who does not love^* me, is not keeping my words.

     And the word which you^* hear is not mine, but the Father's, he who sent me.

     ^14:25I have spoken these things to you^*, while remaining with you^*.^14:26But the Helper^*, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will be sending in my name, that one will be teaching you^* all things and will be reminding you^* of all things which I said to you^*.^14:27I am leaving peace with you^*. I am giving my peace to you^*; not like the world gives, I am giving to you^*. Let your^* heart not be disturbed, nor let it be cowardly.^14:28You^* heard that I said to you^*, I am proceeding away and I am coming to you^*. If you^* loved^* me, you^* would have rejoiced, because I said, I am traveling on to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. ^14:29And now I have spoken this to you^* before it is to happen, in order that, whenever it happens, you^* may believe. ^14:30I will not be speaking much anymore with you^*, for^* the ruler of the world is coming and he has nothing in me; ^14:31but in order that the world may know that I love^* the Father and just-as the Father commanded me, thus I am doing^*.

     Arise^*, we should be proceeding from here.
