1. Word of God is "pearl of great price." How would we feel over a
lost pearl?
2. "Buy the truth and sell it not." Prov. 23:23
3. Word is often "lost" because its value is not appreciated
I. HOW DO WE LOSE THE WORD OF GOD?
1. Plucked out by Satan. Luke 8:12
2. We let it "slip". Heb. 2:1 (See marginal reading)
3. Choked out by cares, riches, pleasures. Lu. 8:14
4. Thrust out of the heart. Acts 13:46;7:51; Jer. 6:16
5. Make it void by tradition. Matt. 15:6-9
6. Gospel hidden to them that are lost. 2 Cor. 4:3,4
