Eph. 1:3
Introduction:
1. Paul reminds Ephesus that God had blessed them, and that all spiritual
blessings were in Christ
2. Some of the Ephesian Christians had been worshipers of Diana. Had
given her credit for such blessings
3. Now all their blessings were in Christ and all were of a spiritual
nature
I. PAUL'S GRATITUDE
1. "Blessed is God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2. Time was when Paul had recognized God but not the Christ. 1 Tim.
1:11-17
3. God is the Giver of all good things. James 1:17
4. Paul and Ephesus both well blessed. "Us." Text
II. QUANTITY OF BLESSINGS
1. All spiritual blessings
2. We are complete in Him. Col. 2:10
3. He is Author and Finisher. Heb. 12:2
III. QUALITY OF THE BLESSINGS
1. Spiritual. 2 Pet. 1:4; John 4:14
2. Heavenly. John 3:12;14:1-4; Eph. 1:3
3. Royal. Rev. 1:6
4. Joint heirs with Christ. Rom. 8:17
IV. ALL BLESSINGS ARE IN CHRIST
1. Prayers are heard. John 15:7; Col. 3:17
2. No condemnation. Rom. 8:1
3. Newness of life. 2 Cor. 5:17; Rom. 6:4
4. Redemption and forgiveness. Eph. 1:7
5. An inheritance. Eph. 1:11
6. Salvation. Ac. 4:11,12; Gal. 3:27; John 14:6
7. Rest and peace. Rev. 14:13
V. HOW SHALL WE GET INTO CHRIST WHERE THESE BLESSINGS MAY BE OBTAINED?
1. Repent and be baptized. Acts 2:38; Gal. 3:27
2. Must remain in Christ. Rev. 22:14;2 Pet. 2:20
