Bible Studies In The Christian Library

Introduction: New Testament Christians have a common allegiance to a book - the Bible. Let's look at some principles concerning God's revealed will, the Bible.

A. The whole Bible is based on this truth
1. Genesis 1:1-3 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
B. God has created us & He wants to speak to us.
1. We should want to hear Him.

2. Hebrews 1:1,2- "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

A. The Bible is not man's effort to reach up to God, but God's effort to reach down to man.
1. ILLUS: Children don't go to school to teach teachers.

2. Bible is a product of God teaching us what we c/o learn by ourselves

B. The is ample proof that the Bible is that record of God to man.

2. 1 Corinthians 14:37- "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord."

3. Galatians 1:11,12- "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ."

4. Ephesians 3:5- "Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;"

5. 1 Corinthians 2:10- "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

6. Revelation 1:1- "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:"
