When we look at our lives there are a lot of things that we trust will occur.  We trust our alarm clocks will work, our electric will be on, and that our cars will start.  The problem with all of those things is that they are man made and may fail at times.  There is one thing that will never fail and never change and that is the Lord and his promises.  The one thing that we are looking at in this article is salvation and the promise of it.   I would hope and pray that everyone would share in the inspired words spoken by the prophet Isaiah. (Isaiah 12:2-3) “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.  Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”  Notice that Isaiah stressed trust and a joy without the fear of being lost, because he trusted in God and in his salvation.

    There is a great passage about trusting in the Lord and receiving blessings in the book of Psalms.  (Psalms 37:3) “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”  If we look at how God will feed us we can understand a lot of things.   (John 6:35) “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”  That is a filling that all should want.  We should want to trust God and the fact that in the Lord we have life.

    We need to trust in God and the plan of redemption to the point where we feel closeness to God and we work for him.  (Psalms 73:28) “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.”  Because, it is much better to trust in God, than any man living on this earth.  (Psalms 118:8) “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”  Then if we truly have that trust we can be as a mountain that cannot be moved in our faith.  (Psalms 125:1) “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.”  There are many things that we may not understand and that too is an important reason to trust in the Lord.  (Proverbs 3:5) “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” 

    We truly can see that trust in the Lord and our receiving salvation is profitable to us.  All things that we do are in hope, faith, and love for and of the Lord.  For example if we will look to the definition itself of faith, we can see that hope is its core.  (Hebrews 11:1)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Hope and trust are very similar in definition.  We must trust (have faith) that those things that we hoped for will come true.  To have a true hope for eternity it is our faith that must be strong.  We can look to those at Ephesus to see how they obtained their trust in the Lord.  (Ephesians 1:13) “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”  Those people heard the word of truth, and obeyed it.  In this faith that they developed they found the trust in God and the ultimate salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Those at Ephesus were converted having been repented, believers in Christ and being baptized into the Lord for the remission of sins (Acts 19:1-5).  This article was written to those that are in the Lord through hearing the word of truth, believing the word of truth, repenting of past sins, confessing Christ, and being baptized by immersion for the remission of sins.  These people are those that have trust in the Lord, because they truly obey Him and continue to walk in pleasingly in the sight of God. 

    Do remember that the things involved in the Christian life simply break down to this following passage.  (I Corinthians 13:13) “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”  Trust today in the Lord through faith, hope and love!
